My mum was plagued with dementia that increasingly stole from her, taking her memory, mobility, personality and warmth. Mum was a resident here for 7 months and the staff were helpful and kind. The facilities are clean if not a little basic, but entirely reasonable in all aspects.

Nearly one year since mum died. Im still so grateful to the staff for their care and the dignity they provided mum. Mum trusted the staff, there was always as smile and a hello and mum responded to this. Thank you for looking after us as well. Aged care is the toughest gig going, those who do it well under the current systems are to be commended. Remembering and thanking you all.

Some staff members should not be doing aged care work given that they lack understanding. Food preparation is poor to say the least & the equipment is ancient. Rooms are small....management are just focused on profit, profit, profit. That's Japara in a nutshell.
