My Grandmother, Muoi Giang, lived with great dignity at Serene Residential Care Nursing Home for many years. Her peaceful and comfortable time there was attributed to the incredible staff and tremendous volunteers at the facility. We can not express enough of our thanks and appreciation to the Directors, Facility Manager, nurses, carers and all the support staff for their generosity of time, expertise, invaluable support, unspoken kindness, daily humour and friendship which they constantly showed my Grandma. On numerous occasions, staff would go beyond their call of duty to ensure that she was always made comfortable and especially so in her final days. Despite the significant language barrier, it was amusing to see that most of them attempted to learn the basics of her language to ensure that the line of communication was always open. At Serene, we were always impressed with the facility's fastidious cleanliness, the menu variety and the structured daily lifestyle activities which are thoughtfully planned for the residents, both within and outside of the home. The greatest blessing is the impressive quality of care and dignity which was bestowed on my Grandmother during her time at Serene. The Facility Manager and his professional staff would always be willing to listen patiently and act efficiently on any of our concerns for Grandma. The genuine care and dedication by everyone at the facility can not be spoken of more highly. As a family, we were honoured when many of the staff attended Grandma's funeral. We knew that many others were also there in spirit. My family has always had peace of mind knowing that our loved one was cared for safely and with utmost professionalism.
