Eight years ago we realised we were no longer able to care for mum. She had multiple health issues, was no longer able to walk or transfer herself from bed to chair or toilet and she was experiencing a lot of pain. After a depressing search, we were delighted to find Regis Blackburn sweet smelling, clean, bright and spacious. Mum has enjoyed the many activities available and particularly the numerous special events such as toddler group visits, 4 year old preschool sessions, dance groups, musical events and excursions. The staff have been marvellous, managing mum's ever worsening dementia which has been a sad decline and the lifestyle staff arranged for her to have her own baby (doll), complete with bassinet. Now, her emotional state has greatly improved after being given the responsibility of caring and loving her baby.

A close family friend needed care and we were requested by overseas family members if we could follow this through for them. We toured 5 facilities of which Regis Blackburn was the only one to ensure they could adequately care for him rather than just focusing on the financials. As such we chose Regis Blackburn and in the 18 months he has been a resident he has received the highest level of care. We would have no hesitation in recommending Regis Blackburn and in fact if you want to save yourselves hours of wasted time, go straight to Regis Blackburn the staff are fabulous and very caring.

I went to an event on Friday as a stall holder at Regis Aged Care, Blackburn. I met so many lovely residents and every single one was so very happy to reside in such a lovely, warm, fun environment! The staff are so attentive and make the residents feel so comfortable, not to mention lovely to me! I even rang my mum to tell her that she should move our Nan to Regis Blackburn! 5 stars & very impressed.

Don't be fooled by the polished brass and glass that is gleaning from the front with endless staff always cleaning it. If you put your parent in here, they won't live long. Unless that is what you want. I know my parent suffered terribly here. The food was terrible, the staff did their best and to put it bluntly, management just don't care. It is all about making money and now my parent has been moved out to another facility, this is why I decided to write this review. My parent is now enjoying, kindness, consideration, activities and warm and caring staff. That is why I now know the difference, and need to warn others. Keep looking, don't leave your loved one here. She developed pneumonia there and the staff just kept her lieing flat. Just read other comments and the negative one's are true. Reception! they are just so rude. By the way and they didn't know it, but I work in a position where I recommend Aged Care to others in a Govt. job. I do hope I have cost Regis a lot of money as I tell the everyone truth.

A very dear family friend was admitted to this place, initially for one month. Her daughter, who is a Registered Nurse, pulled her out of there after three weeks. Her mother also "fell" whilst in the shower, with two alleged, experienced staff standing either side of her, whilst she was strapped into something like an antique electric chair. It had leather straps to allegedly hold her in place. Anyone knows that leather becomes very slippery when wet?!? How can THAT happen?? She was on a very strict regime of pain medication, to be administered every four hours. Often, this was denied up to eight hours (as recorded on her chart, which the daughter now holds as proof!) She developed severe bronchitis. It went undiagnosed, even though a raging fever was also recorded. It then developed into full blown pneumonia. Only at that stage, they began antibiotics?!?!? The daughter got her out after three weeks, but sadly, the infection had spread to her blood and she developed sepsis. She was admitted to Box Hill hospital, and her body began to shut down. Her kidneys, liver and heart were failing. She died of septic shock not long after she was admitted. Steer clear of this place AT ALL COSTS. This place cost a loving mother's family so much grief and suffering. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!
