My family and I would like to say thank you to Princeton View and it's staff for taking such wonderful care of my father. He was comfortable and well cared for during his time there, and we were shown every courtesy.
My mum moved in around December 2020 and this is the most fantastic place. Its beautifully appointed so it doesn't feel like an aged care facility. There are a range of activities for the residents to enjoy and different spaces to be in such as multiple garden spaces with seating, conservatory, lounges, a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating etc. BUT most importantly - the staff are incredible. They are the most caring, dedicated, kind people you could wish for. Nobody wants to put their loved one in care but if you dothan this is the place you want them to go. Every single person I have interacted with over the last 12 months at Princeton has been nothing short of fantastic. I feel so lucky to have managed to get mum in here.
Recently my father was in Princeton View briefly and required intensive palliative care. Aaron and the team were well prepared, provided him with excellent care and were genuinely thoughtful in looking after him. The staff also looked after our family when we visited. We are grateful to the team there for their care and support.
Our family can only thank Princetonview for their wonderful care of our mother who went in at age 102 and has thrived over the past 2 years. The compassion and friendliness of the staff made her transition easy and she has continued to enjoy the wonderful array of activities, music and events offered. Her health has significantly improved since being in Princetonview due to the attentive staff and uniform temperature of the building. She has enjoyed the wonderful food prepared by the talented chef and enjoyed the camaraderie of the other residents at mealtime and during the day. The staff have become like extended family to Mum and to us and we thank them for their compassion and care.
Not the place to send your loved ones with dementia although apparently all their staff are dementia trained. Thing is, people with more than just mild dementia are not able to actually know they are thirsty or able to physically take themselves to their rooms, pour themselves a drink and then drink it. This was the expectation of my father...no one offered him a drink between meals, he was not often toileted (to the point I arrived one afternoon to find him soaked and a pool of urine on the floor) and not often offered appropriate morning and afternoon tea. On one occasion his dentures had not been put in for the entire day so the question arises if he had even been showered. My dad was on a ‘minced moist’ diet and whilst the protein was minced and swimming in gravy, whole cauliflower and broccoli pieces were also on his plate (coz that makes sense - had he eaten the veggies as prepared he would have aspirated leading to another stint in hospital with pneumonia). Medication may or may not have been given as it was only signed off once a day. In this situation we had to monitor him 24/7 and we could not trust that he was being cared for appropriately.
