I lived by this place a few months ago and one night me and my partner were walking home around 8-8:30 and we heard something and couldnt figure out what it was at first but it was an elderly lady outside calling out for help as she had fallen out the door and hit her head and we dont know how long she was laying there calling for help when we noticed we had to ring a buzzer to get in and it took someone atleast 2 minutes to open the gate and took about 5 minutes for someone to actually come out to find out what we were saying then once we told her she went back in for about 5 minutes then when she finally came we seen the elderly lady get up we seen her head was bleeding really bad but the on-duty carer told us to leave while she went back inside to call the ambulance It would be nice if they atleast installed something so they can keep an eye on them out there

Mountain view lodge hostel has been apart of my family for more than 10 years now. My father has been in the dementia care there since the back part opened and now my mother lives in the front section. The quality of care there is unlike many others i have seen, as soon as you walk through the glass doors, you soon discover your walking into not just a care facility but into a real home. Smiles greet you from not only staff ,but the beautiful residence. My mother has many ailments, but she receives the best care with high standards that one could wish, for their mums or loved ones. The staff are well qualified and do an amazing job, not just doing their job but they go out of their way to make the residence feel welcomed and loved. From the cook's, to cleaners, to nurses, to head staff... they all have a real passion for their work, and it shows with the love that goes into the care of our families. My mothers qualify of life has changed dramatically since arriving, she has around the clock care with the best nursing staff in the hunter, shes now more social from going out on outings with the other residents to craft and loads of laughs with her new friends. With my father in the dementia section , I feel confident in his safety and high care. The staff are always so helpful and keep him well looked after. The dementia facility is well secure and still feels like family there. Overall my family and so many other family's are really grateful that mountain view lodge hostel is here in the hunter valley. The overall appearance of this aged care facility from the outside looks good as you enter nobody answers the phones when called, not a staff member in sight when walking in the door, staff are unfriendly and I believe they do not have the patients best interest in mind. The code to be let out of the doors is left on a sticker so that anybody (even paitents) can let them selves out. There is a lack of communication between the staff, families and paitents.
