Horrified by the lack of staff, dismal care and neglect that my mother and other residents received. After 14 months of trying to communicate to affect the care that my mum needed I walked in, removed her and her things and moved her to a smaller older nursing home with attentive care. So many complaints through formal channels (Aged Care Commission) and this cruise liner style facility is still in business. Looks the goods but no care when it is needed the most.

Disappointed with them, they are not helpful, why only relatives are allowed to ring, the lady I'm calling there is like my mother to me n I couldn't get to her. Since she was in this place I couldn't talk to her. Terrible nursing home!

The self check-in process and self temperature taking did not instill any confidence at all. Staff seemed friendly enough. Nursing staff excellent.

I did so much research before I placed my mum here so I knew it was the best aged care facility in the Illawarra. They have so many activities to choose from including in the community from shopping to day care visits, men’s shed and local tours. The food is like a restaurant but is based on the feedback of the residents but if they’d like something different there is a shop and cafe on site that’s open to the local community as well. Can’t go past the hairdressing salon there either with the super friendly staff and really affordable prices. The care is second to none from the amazing manager all the way to the ladies on the front desk and everybody in between! They often put on musical shows there and there is always a theme happening not just at Christmas and Easter but every week in between. It’s a shame that the Royal Commision into Aged Care couldn’t come here and use Marco Polo Woonona as the stick that every facility should measure itself by as not only would every elderly resident be getting the best of care but we would be guaranteeing that our future selves would be too!!
