My Mother just passed after spending about two and a half years here. She was a high needs resident through a disease that take your ability to care for yourself and eventually your ability to communicate. What a wonderful experience it was for her at Kalyra. The efforts the staff went to ease her burden was extraordinary. They gave her an opportunity to have her last years and months be fore filling and worthwhile. The love and care shown to her was above and beyond. I observed the same level of care for other residence too. In her last 48 hours she was made comfortable and every effort was made to make sure her wishes were complied with. We as a family were made very welcome and were able to sit with her around the clock with the staff making sure we were comfortable and looked after. Their care for my father who is not a resident was a joy to see. There isn't the space here to list all the good things this aged care home have done for us and are doing for others. They are an example why Nursing Homes can be a great experience for those with high needs. There is no doubt in my mind we could not have provided for mum in the way they did if we kept her home and tried to meet her needs.
