Looked after my father for a week on respite, but seemed ill equipped to work with people suffering from dementia

I would like to say thank you for the amazing care from all staff members who were extremely caring and loving towards my beautiful Nan.

My husband spent one week in respite in this facility this year. I found the staff had high anxiety, possibly due to the pandemic. I decided to remove my husband early because of the lockdown and because I felt staff did not understand his functional level. On discharge the nurse I met was extremely lacking in respect to me which I felt was was unwarranted and unprofessional considering she was, I think, an RN

My Mum has been at Frankston for 5 weeks now. The facility although older style has beautiful spacious indoor and outdoor areas with bay views upstairs. The staff have been wonderful and staffing ratios very good. The facility is clean and my requests for help have all been attended to. I have been many times both day and night and I have not seen any residents experiencing distress or being poorly attended to. The only faults are not enough activities, a lifestyle co ordination is needed and the food is quite fattening with rich sauces.

The pictures and vision statement DO NOT reflect the current state of this nursing home facility. I would not recommend any family to leave their loved one here.
