The care our mother has received over the past 12 months here has been second to none. I cannot recommend Carinity Wishart Gardens enough. Thank you to all the staff for the amazing job you all do.
Today our Aunt passed away after falling ill due to lack of proper care at this nursing home. Our Aunt developed maggots in her feet (we believe this occurred on more than one occasion) and she was not treated properly. Our Aunt was not showered on a regular basis and was left alone in her room without proper health and medical attention. This home has failed in its duty of care. This facility needs to undergo a full inspection and investigations conducted of its current services and quality control. When you place your loved ones in a facility, you expect them to be safe and respected. You would not leave your dog in a facility like this, in its current state.
My sister visited our aunt at Carinity wishart this week only to discover maggots crawling in open sores on her feet.
The care and attention to my dad was 6star. Sincere gratitude to the amazing staff.
Disclaimer: This review is from when I was a student nurse here, not as a patient or resident. First off, the inside of the facility looks like your typical grandparents house. The living furniture isn't old, but definitely old fashioned. This is likely a good thing for the residents as I've asked some of the residents how they feel about the place and they've all liked it and reminds them of home. As for the care of the residents, the nurses really do put residents' safety and care at #1 priority. They are always friendly when talking to residents and never try to rush with a patient's care, ensuring their safety, health and comfortability. But sometimes, the nurses have to do some nursing care that the residents generally don't like, such as giving them showers, which may lead some residents to "hate" the place or the nurses, but it's all for their well-being and never discrimination.
