Very recently my father a 99 year young veteran needed to leave his home due to the fact he no longer had the energy to cook for himself and more importantly he was starting to have blackouts. He was living in QLD with the best of health and home care to keep him staying as long as possible in his own home. His Dr recommended it was time to find a home near family. I live in Victoria and Woodend Bupa is only 10 min away. My dad comes from a very warm climate and loves his food. My Dad and our family are delighted with the outcome at Bupa Woodend. Dad has a large room and he can have the temperature set to Hawaii if need be (luckily not all the time). Dad and I were in awe of the beautiful process the Bupa Woodend team showed to him on his 1st day. Everyone who worked in all different capacities came into the room and introduced themselves. There were chocolates and welcome letter on the table. During the 1st 2 weeks when balloon/fitness games were in order, dad received a scratch and I was notified immediately. There was a new Doctor required, Podiatrist and appointments to make. All were co-ordinated by the wonderful team at Bupa Woodend. When dad sat down in his chair on his 1st day....he remarked on the room and said 'Gold'! Then after lunch ( his 1st meal) he said 101%. Having a chef produce the meals is such an important part of on going care. Enjoying what you eat encourages you to eat well and remain healthy. So this is also very exciting. When ever I pop in the staff are always so helpful. I also received a call from the General Manager to see how things were going for my Dad. This was so incredible to see that no detail is being over looked for the care of your loved one. In short I highly recommend Bupa Woodend. I am so honoured he has another beautiful family to help care for him. So our family can take him out for short outings and he has his own space to return to with 24 hour care. So delightful.

My mother has been in a resident in this facility since January 2017 and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she gets. My mother has often expressed that she "is very well cared for and the staff are kind". Further pluses about this facility are that the meals provide to residents are nutritious, varied, allow resident selection and routinely changed on a seasonal basis. Additionally, the communication between staff and myself is open, respectful, clear and informative at all times.

My brother resided at Bupa Woodend for the last 6 years & in that time his care was delivered with compassion & respect for him as a person. The facility is well run & located in a beautiful bushland setting with well kept gardens which are a credit to the resident run Garden Club. Also the lifestyle team works extremely hard to keep the residents in tune & active. Keep up the good work

Nice little care home for our oldies who want to downsize and live with 24 hour care. The place was kept nice and clean. All care staff were well trained and friendly. What I saw was a home for our parents with a wonderful mountain view at the back. If you are looking for a place to live peacefully for the rest of your life, wooden home would be a great choice to consider.
