Josh and the team at Bupa Coburg have done an excellent job of supporting my Mum when she required a respite bed. They were able to respond quickly when we needed the bed and the nurses and other staff were helpful and kind at every stage. I visited Mum a lot so I know she was well looked after by the whole team.
I have been working with Bupa for the past 4 months. Fantastic team, great people, great residents!
Bupa staff at Coburg have cared for my mother for over 4 years; having supported her and our family through the challenges of Covid-19. Medical + Nursing attention is exceptional, and lifestyle + reception staff are always supportive and helpful. Truly grateful for all of the love + respect staff show my mother. She enjoys living at Bupa Coburg!
The BUPA Coburg team have been an absolute godsend. Josh the intake manager spent so much time helping me understand the facility, services and general landscape. I toured basically every facility in the area and BUPA coburg was the nicest in terms of layout, natural light, and gardens. I was waiting to see how mum settled in before writing a review despite being really happy with the onboarding and ongoing support. But everyone seems really friendly and comitted to giving the residents good experiences, good food and medical treatment or professional attention. Sandy the general manager has been professional and fastidious and Kerry the activities coordinator has followed up with me regularly engaging about mums activities and helping me support mum and be involved. The rest of the staff I’ve met have been committed to their roles, kind and patient with mum and me. This was one of the hardest decisions and stages of me and mums life, but mums doing 10x better with full time care. She lives around the corner now so I can visit regularly without driving two hours and my own stress is down so I can just hang out and not be constantly dealing with the details of keeping mum running. They do laundry, organise activities, medical appointments. I’m sure most places do but happy to share two months in that I’m really happy with mums care and our decision to go to BUPA
Moving a loved one to aged care is an incredibly difficult and confusing time. This prospect faced my sister and I as we contemplated what was best for our Mother over a year ago as it became evident the level of support we could provide was clearly not enough. We know we made the right decision. From the minute we placed Mum in for respite care, the extraordinary level of care, compassion and good humour demonstrated was beyond any norm I had experienced. It was so good in fact that our Mother was convinced she wanted to stay. And stay she did right until the end. When that time came my sister and moved into the home and sat vigil. Not only was Mum's care front of mind but as carers they supported us and treated us like family. Lia, the GM organised hospital in the home which meant that unlike so many others denied this luxury because of COVID, we were able to say good bye in a place she was comfortable in and could sit with her. All the staff were incredible. Wonderful Kerry who made sure Mum was fully engaged, Lia ever looking at what else could be done and the nursing staff - Wen, Amber, and beautiful Rina who saw Mum out and said it was an honour to serve Mum in this way. The special Anjani whose baby Mum was keen to see, her special friend in the laundry who bought in flowers for Mum, Thomas who that rainy night went to the garden and picked flowers to honour her and Luigi the security guard who spoke to Mum in Italian at night. Diana, Vanessa and so many many more. There are many more beautiful souls who really cared for Mum - they knew her favourite side to sleep and all stood as a guard of honour as she left the building for the last time. Our relationship has not ended - they continue to check in on us and we on them. Families do that. I cannot capture the peace and security knowing Mum was loved and cared for in the way we would have loved to have done ourselves.
