I work nearby the Bupa Aged Care and today I heard something horrific. Someone screaming out loud for help. Literally "HELP ME, HELP ME". I could clearly hear someone from the staff shouting back "SHUT UP" many times. I wonder if I should have called the police.
Very cramped small lounge room with not enough seats for residents. Unclean floors and surfaces including the mobile dining tables. Poor quality food not nutritionally balanced. Insufficient toilet ratios to resident numbers. Insufficient staff to manage dementia and behavioral issues leading to an unsafe environment and fear amoungst residents and visitors. Resident clothes and personal belongings constantly lost/stolen. Only ONE registered nurse on duty to care for over 60 residents located on two levels, from the afternoon until the next morning. My 95 year old father was a resident for 7 months. We recently moved him to another facility and we are all now so relieved, including dad.
