Some of the staff here were not pleasant. I actually walked in on a staff member being rude and impatient with my Mum, just because she asked for the curtains to be drawn. A staff member was extremely rude to me on my second visit. You can't get in or out without a code and they were usually annoyed they had to come and let us in. A dementia patient wandered into my Mum's room four times, once pointing a butter knife at her. They didn't seem to think this was a big deal and did nothing to stop it. Num was traumatized. The food was terrible. One of her lunches was hot water with the soup powder not even stirred in properly. Mum heard a physical altercation between staff one day, and heard things being thrown. Her room was basically a box. When Mum asked me to bring in some family photos so the staff could see she was a human being with a life, and they might treat her better, I knew it was time to get her out. She said staff would speak a foreign language in front of her and ignore her when she spoke to them. Note that there were certain staff who were kind and caring, but this didn't outweigh the negatives. It was devastating to see my kind, loving mother treated this way. They didn't get her out of bed in the two months she was there and her muscles have atrophied. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they make some serious improvements.
Wonderful place, lovely team
Pleasant location. Nice facilities and generally nice staff. Understaffed at night, experienced a few times where buzzer was not answered within 30 mins and had to search for the nurse. Poor especially if wanting to go to the toilet quickly. Night time nurse was great but obviously overworked through no fault of her own.
