My mum has lived here in the dementia ward for the past 5 years. She’s always been well cared for; the staff are dedicated, hard working and attentive to my mum’s needs. I am treated like family too. Karen is an exceptional manager; she runs a tight ship and is very generous. The facilities are great and the gardens extensive and beautiful. My nana was also here before she passed away and Alwyndor was the first choice for our family when my mum needed full time care. Would recommend this care facility to anyone!
Worst facility in all over the south Australia.Tash is very arrogant lady . Never recommend to anyone to work in rubbish place. They don't deserve even a one star. The reason they recruiting new people every week. They even don't know how to make a roster. Zero skills. Idiots .
With gradually deteriorating dementia, Mum received home care from Alwyndor for many years, and was then most fortunate in receiving a room there in high care for her final two years. I often found my visits to Mum could be very draining, trying to follow her thoughts and requests could be exhasperating. Yet I was amazed at how the staff had immense reserves of patience and understanding, they were so very caring and attentive to her needs, and always treated her with dignity and respect. They anticipated and provided for her needs at each stage of her journey with dementia, and her medical care was also excellent. She was made very comfortable even in those final months, and I was kept well informed of any concerns. Any questions I had were always taken seriously and followed through. During my many visits I observed the treatment of other residents was likewise scrupulously kind and caring. And that friendly, helpful and caring approach was also shown by the admin staff. I cannot speak too highly of the wonderful care Mum received.
Outstanding! I can’t speak more highly of our experience with this facility. It has been first class in every way. The gardens are stunning and are a great place to spend time with family and friends. The staff treat the residents beautifully - nothing is too hard.
My mother moved into Alwyndor a bit over 12 months ago. She is 'with it' and she reports great care and after settling in, she is very happy living there. They went out of their way to accomodate her needs, even found her a carpark and have given her a lovely spacious room even though she is a full pensioner. She says the food could be improved but she is a very good cook herself and no-one cooks like she does! LOL. Whenever something goes wrong with Mum, which is rare, I get a call and we get regular emails from the General Manager so we know whats going on and why. I have found them helpful, flexible and responsive and I'm very happy with the care Mum gets. The poor reviews here appear to be from disgruntled former staff and as an HR Manager I think its good that they are clearly fussy with who they employ. I think their approach during the COVID-19 pandemic has been pretty flawless in very difficult times. Highly recommend.
