Uniting Amala is an aged care home located in the Canberra suburb of Gordon. The facility offers comfortable indoor and outdoor common areas, themed breakout spaces, and landscaped gardens. The staff are committed to creating warm and inclusive homes for residents, respecting their choices to live life their way, and providing round-the-clock support. Uniting Amala also offers pastoral care and religious services at no extra cost to meet residents' spiritual and religious needs. In January 2020, concerns were raised by the Commission on some areas where the facility needed improvement, such as better matching staffing to resident needs, improving complaint/feedback mechanisms, and assessment/care planning processes. Since then, a continuous improvement plan has been implemented to address these concerns. Despite this issue in the past, Uniting Amala is a welcoming and well-appointed aged care home that respects diversity and supports all people regardless of lifestyle choices, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Mum has been a resident at Amala for the past 3 years and I couldn't be happier. The facilities are fantastic, the activities bring Mum a lot of joy (even during COVID), and the Carers have been amazing. They genuinely care about Mum and always manage to get a smile or a laugh out of her. The home style facilities have also made the move into Aged Care a lot easier for her (this from the woman that always said "I'm never going to some nursing home!"). A huge thank you to all of the staff. It certainly eases our minds knowing that Mum is so well cared for.
