I worked at the Cairns Centre for over 6 years and have enjoyed my time. It has been a welcoming environment and the current manager has a genuine personality who is always aiming to provide the best. The staff are respectful and caring towards the residents. It has been a pleasure working there.

Shocking facility. Residents are left on toilets for hours, rooms are filthy. Hideously understaffed. Utterly appalling. My partner’s 95 year old grandmother was taken to the Royal Brisbane after lockdown in 2021 and had a raft of health issues which were ignored by staff. Thankfully she was moved to a new nursing home to live out her final months. Shut this place down!

The Cairns Centre staff are so caring and I can't speak highly enough about the attitude towards residents. They have a good program for entertainment if you wish to participate and the food is good quality and varied. Communication can sometimes be difficult due to the large number of shifts of carers but they try hard to meet any needs you have. I would recommend the centre to anyone looking for a caring environment. My father was cared for with dignity during his last days and my mother was supported by the staff with great empathy after he died. Karen Strohfeldt

The Cairns Centre is a friendly and safe place. My mother is happy here and finds the carers kind and helpful. Everyone the family has met while visiting mum has been cheerful and welcoming. They are all very friendly and always have a chat with us. Mum has made some nice friends amongst the residents. The facilities are good and there are a number of varying activities in which the residents can participate. Our family is happy with the care mum is given and feel she is well looked after by people who know her and care about her.
