About our home
Southern Cross St Joseph's Apartments, rebuilt and extended in 2010 and 2011, is an aged care facility located just minutes south of Tweed Heads. It features 30 additional rooms, nine lounge areas, 11 sitting areas, two courtyards, a chapel, a hairdressing salon, and a library.
The facility provides easy access to well-maintained garden areas and offers a variety of lifestyle and activity programs, including bingo, in-house concerts, shopping trips, movie days, and a men’s group. Additional services include a coffee shop, a hairdresser, a GP, and other healthcare specialists.
The Arts Health Institute's Play Up program delivers weekly humour therapy with visiting performers. Local volunteers support the facility's staff in managing activities and outings. The facility is near a major shopping center and local bus stops.

I just want to thank all the staff for taking care of my Dad through a very difficult time. He is so happy here and he says it's like a big family.
My mother has been there for over 2 months. Despite repeated efforts I cannot get through to her on the phone. The EXCUSE? Shes not mobile. No S___ sherlock, that's why she's there. Every heard of a wheel chair.
Chemical restraint-antipsychotics given without consent, major errors in medical records, wrong medication doses given, care plans and resident information with major errors or not up to date, mother went missing from the facility twice, which was handled dreadfully and without duty of care. We have had numerous meetings, to no avail. This was our mother's home for 3 1/2 years and now we have to move her elsewhere for her safety. Would not want any other family to have this experience. I am not a reviewer, but there is nowhere to retrieve the appropriate information before you commit your loved one to a facility.
