The Special Care Wing of the aged care home is designed for security and comfort, featuring a secure unit with external doors that open to safe garden areas. The bedrooms are arranged along two short hallways, each leading to a communal hub. This central area adopts a domestic style, incorporating a kitchen, dining room, lounge, sitting room with a fireplace, and an additional small dining room.
Access to the wing is facilitated through either the car park or the main entrance of R.M.McHale, allowing both secure and convenient entry points. The design ensures that residents enjoy a safe environment conducive to socialization and outdoor enjoyment while maintaining a home-like atmosphere in the communal living areas.

The carers are nice, they keep the place clean, and they make sure Dad eats well.
They have helped me so much with my Mum’s physical limitations and have been very caring and understanding when it comes to her dementia. The entire family are so grateful.
When I moved my mother-in-law there, she was so happy to be around people who treated her with dignity and respect. She is always telling me how much she loves it there, especially because they have a variety of activities and events that she enjoys.
I thank Respect for the care they are giving my grandfather. I am glad that he is being looked after there. He seems happier and more relaxed than when he would stay at his house.
Respecting elders should be a priority for everyone. It's not the history that they make or the wisdom they've accumulated, it's the value they bring to society.
