This facility is spectacular. My mother was well cared for by the caring nursing staff and nothing was ever a bother for them. The activities staff where wonderful and the activity program has alot of variety. my mum wouldnt let me visit on particular days as she was too busy with her new friends, playing bingo, attending church services ( she wanted to attend all denomimations despite being a catholic!!) And she enjoyed the musical entertainment. Old time sing alongs was her favourite. My mum previously had respite in other local facilities. Whist they were nice facilities, i personally never felt at ease, however at Lakeside i felt comfortable and at ease that she was being well looked after by the experienced and competent staff. Our initial tour was helpful and informative, i was assisted with all paperwork - the process was very easy and straightforward. If ever i needed to speak to staff, they were always very helpful and put my mind at ease straight away. Facilities where always clean and tidy and mum not once complained about the meals. She looked forward to fish and chip fridays! I must mention at the end of my mother's life, the palliative care she recieved was above and beyond my expectations. From management down, we felt as a family; we were also well supported. The nursing staff are very caring. I would not hesitate in recommending this facility to anyone looking at Aged Care in the region.

My late Grandmother Ivy was a resident at Laurieton Lakeside nursing home. I would like to say thank you to the amazing staff for the way that they cared for my grandmother. During her stay I always found the amenities spotless and the staff friendly, informative, caring and friendly.

A wonderful very modern and comfortable facility for aged residents in this area. The staff were friendly and caring and the residents were smiling and happy when I visited. I would recommend this facility to any person considering aged care in the Hastings area to go and have a tour. Thank you for a very positive experience when I went through for the tour!

Atrocious facility and staff totally unfit to nurse even a healthy mouse, let alone the elderly. The facility was filthy every time I visited. I personally witnessed staff ignoring calls for aid and giving out medication without witnessing said medication being taken by clients, as they are legally required to. A few clients I spoke to on my visits claimed their Aid Buzzer was taken off of them and when I inspected their rooms I found they had indeed been taken. When I asked a staff member of this they said the clients made "too many frivolous calls." This is totally unacceptable in a medical environment where emergencies are not uncommon. I found a few less mobile clients with bruising on their limbs and even skin tears from improper use of Hoyer Slings and personally witnessed single nurses operating these lifts, when 2 are supposed to be present. I also found clients who claimed to have been left, undressed or partially dressed, in bed for days at a time. The meals are worse than I would feed to the most heinous criminal, to call it "food" would be a boldfaced lie. I would compare this facility to Hell but that would be a vast understatement. It astounds me this crime against nature and humanity can even remain open, despite my complaints being lodged to the appropriate authorities. If you are considering placing family at this facility, for the love of all things good in this world, do not do it. They will be neglected, both in basic daily care and important medical care.
