A few years ago my Nana developed dementia as things become worse she needed moving out of her home and into high care and this was the place that was available at the time, looking back I can see why they had vacancies just as we had created one when we left. I have seen this place has some good feedback, maybe it is for the some other area of this place. The high care area the food was like slops, the place is like a rabbit warren with narrow corridors connecting rooms can't fit more than one person down at a time and the doors are all locked into little sections needing a staff member to unlock just to move about the place. I resemble this place to detention centre or prison rather than a nice place for your loved one to be comforted by. Needless to say we removed her at earliest opportunity to another home and my god was it different. The front door was locked of course but walking in to was wide open plan with different spaces all centred around a large landscaped courtyard this place was a community and it's where she lived happily out the rest of her days. I strongly DO NOT recommend John Bryant to anyone. If you have a relative in this place, keep phoning around and getting them transferred somewhere else. There is nothing that can be done to fix the poor layout warren like layout that is not healthy for anyone's mental state (staff or resident), some TNT and a bulldozer is the friendly thing to do for the sake of humanity.

The care in Juniper John Bryant cannot be faulted. This has been particularly highlighted the during Covid -19. Staff are on top of any issues before you raise them. The visiting GP Dr Chin adds value to what is a small, well managed and caring dementia specific aged care facility. It may be older than some other places and a little worn in parts but renovations are underway and, in any event, the care John Bryant offers is much more important to our family.

This place is like living in a local home. Integrated into the local metropolitan architecture, residents of this dementia are genuinely happy I've found. I've visited twice.
