On the positive side: The rooms / facility are warm and clean. Meals appear to be not too bad, ranging from chicken nuggets with mashed potato to fish/meat and vegetables on the occasions I visited at meal times. There are a range of regular social activities and a large communal dining room and lounge room. The facilities are well kept. We were happy that a room was available here. On the negative side: Multiple times when I visited a person came to the room to reassure me that residents were checked regularly for bedsores, yet my mother had a serious and untreated bedsore on her elbow. Endone is regularly administered, even when a headache tablet is asked for. I saw what endone did. It was not nice - over medication and completely unnecessary. My mother told me she didn't like or want endone, yet it was strongly suggested by the nurse for a headache plus was given once a day, every day. With one nurse available on a weekend, it can take 45 minutes to receive help (this was in 2019, don't know what it's like now). My mother was also left unwashed and in a terrible state, discovered after a period of lock down for a flu outbreak (pre covid). I suspect understaffing is an issue here like is reported in many facilities. My mother paid the highest amount to stay here, but it didn't ensure any special treatment, everyone recurrences the same level of care.
What a lovely nursing home, some staff were rude though
