Dad didn't get showered yesterday. Then a girl walked in dumped some towels and said there you go. He needs help to shower now. Then tonight 24/6 his dinner came. It looked like a tin of dog food and was disgusting. He couldn't eat it. Thongs have gone way down hill and I'm not happy.

My father “escaped” from RFM in Golden Square 2 years ago. No one realised he was gone until 8-9hrs later when I found him wandering around aimlessly in the cbd! When I rang to question where he was they insured me he was still in his room and was checked on numerous times throughout the night… Even with camera footage of him scaling 2 fences, it took hours for them to even admit there was a possibility that he got out….

I had my father in this facility. The care staff where decent people but senior management are a disgrace. At the end of my fathers respite period senior management tried to refuse my removing my father despite me having power of attorney for financial and health matters. They called the police as we left, then refused to give me access to his personal effects and more importantly his everyday medication. My fathers doctor who was seeing my father in the home was happy to give me repeats on all the medications he needed and thanked me for removing him from this facility. I highly recommend you not be dazzled by the nice facade and fancy interior. To this nursing home your loved one is simply a pay cheque.

Sadly everyone gets old, needs help, old age is not nice, not good, so sad. And not to mention so expensive, not talking a few dollars, but half a million dollars.
