My Mother required care after being discharged from hospital. We chose Clover Lea Nursing and am very impressed with the care and attention that she receives. She's not always responsive but they do everything possible to engage her. She is cared for in such a loving way. Thank you to the Management & Staff for everything.

I watch 4 Corners last Monday and saw the Catholic Health Care home where there were allegations of abuse. My now deceased good mother who suffered from dementia, we had taken out of the same home and moved to Clover Lee. I cannot thank enough the immense support and heart fullness of the staff who loved our mum like we did. And the food was food. When mum was full after I fed her I used to polish the rest off. To the managers of this facility, you employ loving and caring staff.

It's OK but that is all. My next of kin (NOK) has been there around 3 yrs, so we've had plenty of time to assess this facility. It certainly doesn't rate 5 stars. As in many homes, residents' personal possessions get lost or damaged without recompense. Clothing goes to a cheap commercial laundry and come back ruined and if you opt for home laundry, you get no recompense. When you're paying around $2600 per month, that's not good enough. The food is bland and if the resident is a fussy eater, the only alternative is salad or a sandwich. My NOK often went without a proper meal because of not eating pork or chicken. They don't provide healthy & tasty vegetarian options. Nobody checks whether the resident actually ate the meal or what portion was eaten. The pre-admission hype about having a physiotherapist, group exercises was false; my NOK was never exercised properly and we never once met the physio. They promised outings but they were a fiction. Only recently, when taken over by Hall & Prior, were outings introduced but at an extra cost. They hold resident/carer meetings but always during business hours, so if you work - you cannot attend! The actual nursing is OK (ie medication, response to illness) and some of the staff were nice. But if we could go back in time, we'd have kept our NOK at home and hired help as required.
