Mum has been at Warrigal Stirling for about six months and I can’t recommend it enough. Great rooms, facilities and staff. The staff in particular are always cheerful, professional and respectful. We have just come back from a Christmas lunch with my mum (who stays at Warrigal), my dad, my family and my sister’s family. Couldn’t have gone better! One of the best Christmas lunches we’ve had. Thanks Warrigal staff for making a big difference to mum’s and all of our lives.
Have placed 3 people in this nursing home. I am very pleased with care provided and the meals are delicious
Small improvements since Bupa management left. Same nice carers still work there. Nice gardens however residents are rarely allowed to visit because they lock them inside.
Hi Scotty, We live in a world in which 'perfection' is a synonym for 'desire' I have lived at Warrigal Stirling for almost 12 months. I come from a background of treating customers with respect for, and anticipation of their needs. As a pharmacist of 56 years experience across the counter, I challenge you to dismiss my refutation of your critique! You are wrong and illogically malevolent about what a resident encounters at this facility. Keep in mind, that the cohort of people like me with Dementia, for whom every day of confusion is the antithesis of what they HOPED their lives might be, necessarily needs to attenuate your misgivings You are obviously distraught and angry about your loved one's experience and I cannot know the reasons why? I feel sorry for your disillusion. No one dumps their loved one in an overtly unkind place! You did not do that, but the reality of MY experience might help to atone for the mistake you FEEL you have made. I can only say that this Facility stands head and shoulders amongst its peers! How does one prepare three meals a day for 140 people and not meet ALL their expectations? vis a vis flavour, portion size etc. Aged care facilities can never be Club Med facsimiles! My personal experience refutes your allegations about staff levels, food quality and empathy for residents.Daily activities and their obvious enjoyment by residents fills the empty spaces of solitude, whose sad dimensions can ONLY be known by those who live in it. My children brought me here after serious investigation of all options. There ARE facilities in which staff shortages, underfunding and the vagaries of business sometimes cause inconvenience, but nothing like the black picture you paint! Not here anyway! I invite any prospective resident or their family members to talk face to face with me about the compassion and excellence of Warrigal Stirling. I have spent a lifetime trying to achieve what is the status quo here; the Management and Staff have turned kindness into an art form. Would that your dotage is lucky enough to find you in an environment like mine! Kevin Jones. Aged 76.
