Recently my mother was in Southaven Aged Care for 2 month. I have never seen staff anywhere that were as uncaring and neglectful as they were to my mother. When my mother arrived she was continent but night staff intimidated her into not pressing her buzzer and telling her to do what she needed in her pad”Don’t keep pressing your buzzer “ they would say to her. Most days when I would visit my mother was so distressed I made a complaint. My mother was sight impaired, hearing impaired and immobile. Another incident was a nurse was angry with my mum because she wanted to stay in her night wear as she was bedridden, nurse snatched the tea shirt from my mother and put it away. When my mum did press her buzzer it took the nurses lots of time to get to her with a pan. So many distressed days she had when I visited her. Nurses lazy and uncaring and did not treat her with dignity. This nursing home needs a overhaul of nursing staff ,including the management. These places should be caring and respectful and treat residents with dignity. I have changed nursing homes and the home she is in now treats her with the respect dignity she deserves.

The previous rating was done by accident.The nursing home is truly awesome place to work where elderly people are taken care as our parents. The management team is like family members for staffs and residents. Southheaven is really HEAVEN for all staffs and residents. Highly recommended for your love ones .
