Hi Marianne, I am really sorry for the impression you had. I would want to apologize for your feelings but definitely it is not what we meant to impress you. The flower has been displayed right at our front desk where all residents can see. It is a well made flower vase which can last for quite a while :)) Thanks very much for such kindness! We do provide qualified care for our residents here and try our best to ensure as well the visitors are looked after. As many people may know that many aged care facilities nowadays are suffering from COVID-19 outbreaks. Thankfully, out nursing home only has one mini-outbreak in the past 2.5 years since the pandemic started. Our nurses are very much alerted when checking visitors in which might be a contribution that the nurse was distracted with the infection control procedures when taking flowers from you. In addition to it, all our staff are wearing N95 masks and face shield which can cover our smiles :)) which could be another contribution to your impression--regardless, it is our mistake and we really appreciate your flowers. We will take this as a good suggestion to us to continuously improve our services :)

I just dropped off a flower arrangement I did myself, made the vase, bought the flowers and picked banksia and wattle from my own garden. It was whisked away from a seemingly uncaring nurse. I put effort into them for residents in that facility to enjoy and it didn't seem appreciated at all. I know the elderly love flowers, she better put them on display to be enjoyed by the residents, they'll miss out on a regular basis as I'll be going elsewhere from now on.
