Could not recommend Jimboomba Aged Care enough, the staff are so friendly and the residents are always participating in activities that allow them to have fun with each other and enjoy themselves. My parents had become residents last year and had settled in after awhile. The staff were so kind and willing to cater to their needs which was so appreciated. I truly could not thank them enough.
Thank God for Signature Care . We had to find placement for mum after Mum had a major stroke at age 72 years old. Our beloved Mum is deemed a high care patient requiring 2-3 careers for all needs. After this tragedy we were so blessed to have Mum welcomed into there care. I cannot rate mums care team highly enough.. as mum said in her own words beautiful young woman and men who look after me. We consider our relationships a partnership with all the carers, clinicians and extended staff. Mum was never expected to get to the milestones that she has after her stroke. However with the care and dedication from the beautiful team she is hurdling them. The team at signature care from the managers, reception team, activity team and clinicians are always open to discuss mums care at any time. They are authentic, sensitive and warm not only to Mum but to us as a family. I could not recommend this home any more and we are so blessed to have this facility and friends there. Premises and rooms are immaculate, friendly helpful staff, doctors and nurses respond to questions quickly, laundry service is great. Residents encouraged to join in with activities and the Friday afternoon happy hour often has entertainment. Happy staff create a good atmosphere :)
This is the second Brisbane nursing facility mum has been to and the other (very well know company) does not compare to this one. Mum has Dimentia and is at the point where she is mostly in bed and has very little verbal ability now. She now has trouble swollowing which has caused a few issues getting her food sorted due to some miscommunication but we're getting there. Renuka (Manager) is lovely and very accommodating and empathetic to our needs. Any issues and she's right on to it. The staff and in particular in mum's wing are amazing. I can't speak more highly of them. Having permanent (regular) staff makes all the difference. You can see how much they care about their residents. I'm so glad we found this facility and being a couple of minutes from home is a bonus. I can also tell mum is much happier here. The facilities are gorgeous and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!!
Although Jimboomba Aged Care looks beautiful, they have a long way to go to get there procedures and practices up to a quality standard. We placed our Mum into Jimboomba for respite with a view to a full time placement at the end of this time. Many errors in care and procedures were made during the three weeks of respite. After a fall in which family members found Mum on the floor, some lovely staff assisted in helping her off the floor, only to be told they shouldn’t have done this until Mum was checked by an RN. Then her medications were incorrectly checked and decisions were made to not send her to hospital for a head injury. This decision was eventually overturned and 6 hours later she was sent to hospital to be checked. My family were prepared to overlook many errors as teething problems in a new facility, but as this was not the first signature care facility in the country, staff should have been fully trained before it opened. When we asked to speak to the clinical nurse about where they were looking at offering a room in the facility to Mum, they took offence at our questions and decided that they would not offer us a placement there, as we obviously would not be happy. At the time Mum had been incorrectly placed in the locked dementia ward with no medical paperwork to support the placement. All we wanted was an assessment to be made on where she needed to be in the facility and that we were not wanting her in the locked ward. When you get passed the beautiful facade you find that although the staff were mostly delightful it was a high powered sales pitch being made by Jackie and the actual services did not live up to the promised hype. I am sure this facility suits some people very well, if they are placed correctly to start with, but in our experience it was not the best place for Mum. She is now in a lovely facility that is not a locked dementia ward and is enjoying taking part in the many things on offer to the residents, as she can readily access them.
