Dad has only been at Poplars for 3 weeks and is settling in nicely. Today we celebrated my dad's 90th birthday, on behalf of our family, we would like to thank all the staff in helping making this occasion special. It means so much to us all.

My 90 year old mum has just had 4 weeks respite stay and I must say I have not seen her look more happy. For myself as the only family carer the backup help and guidance from the administration team could not have been better. Plus from my mum's perspective she loved the care and attention she received every day. They made her feel very much at home. Now back home I am battling to keep up the the standards set. With Low Care as a next stage for my mum I would have loved to afford this place for her future, but unfortunately their costs seem out of my reach.

The operating model of this place is intended to rip off and financially abuse its residents. Contracts allow them to push residents around at whim. Within 48hrs of my father dying they, without notice, ransacked his room and put all his belongings in loading dock to collect. Then advised us holding fees would apply if not collected. As wrong as this was the lack of emotional empathy via this action is astounding. In fairness, most/all nurse/care staff where wonderful and the premises is always very clean and homely. The industry needs urgent and critical reform.

Sadistic and hateful nursing staff. Whatever you do, do not send your loved ones to this home which is like torture chamber for elderly and defenceless people. The management and staff of this place cannot be trusted for one second. Please, please, remove your loved ones as soon as you can.
