Hi I am new to Calvary previously Japara Aged Care and my husband is content with husband Care in the memory support level. There is a RN on each shift and the Lifestyle program is very good. I have found that many of the reviews here are very old.
My dad Heinze was here for over a year,Sadly he passed away recently,he loved it at central park the staff are so caring the place is like a hotel,as I'm from WA just knowing my dad was happy and getting well looked after put my mind at ease,I'd recommend this place to anyone especially if you have doughts about aged care like me and my brothers and sisters did,
I live across the road from Central Park in the ten years of visiting many people who would visit the cafe... l have sadly seen a lack of respect from nurses careers and the staff to the people who for what reason they come into your care treat them with respect kindness and understanding because you will be old and need care and what l have seen and witnessed l wouldn’t let anyone go there to live if l can say that the new people who have taken over if you treat people that worked there for many years and leave because you are not doing the right thing by you the once happy Central Park nursing home is gone the people who live there are sad 😔.... And when family and careers are meet by sour face group of staff members show them the common courtesy And respect they have the right to ask on behalf of who they look after they have right to be given any correspondence personal mail etc !! To act on behalf of there loved ones or caress.... You Central Park are not dealing with prisoners you are not the warden or prison officers....... Take better care of those who are in your care.... 😔😡🤬
I have my mum here on a transition care program. I have been very happy with the carers and care she is receiving so far. The Transition coordinator Raelene has been wonderful in providing advice and advocacy with the Centre mum is waitlisted for. Her carers are responsive to mums calls for help and I love that they charge her mobile for her and her i-pad on request! The food is acceptable with options to bring your own or order in with a fridge and microwave in her room. We really appreciate the wifi availability as mum is reliant on her i-pad for entertainment! Thanks
I'm surprised by one of the reviews I read on this place saying that it is 'a place to send poor elderly people to die'. It isn't my experience at all! I had to move my mum from the one across the road because it felt really bad. My mum needs help with everything. It felt like a hospital and it smelt of vomit. Everyone was screaming and people would just walk into my mum's room and get in her bed. she had to share a bathroom with four people. They said they had outings, but she was there for two weeks and didn't have a single one. I organised physiotherapy and that didn't happen either. Whereas, at this Central Park place, it happened the very next day. My mum has only been there for three days and she has had physiotherapy, she has had an outing in the bus, which she loved, and she has not had any complaints. The room is very comfortable, with a view, privacy and a large personal bathroom. The carer's help her wash and put her in her pjs for bed. I like this place a lot, because my mother is not ringing me every hour begging to get out. She is not staying there forever, but for the few weeks she is, it has been very nice.
