About our home
Bupa Pottsville Beach is an award-winning care home completed in 2009, located in a traditional holiday village on the North Coast of New South Wales, close to the beach and creek. It features high-quality interiors, tropical gardens, and non-slip walking paths. The facility includes a variety of comfortable indoor common areas and activity rooms like a cafe, library, hair salon, and art and crafts room.
Rooms are 13 sqm, equipped with an ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, telephone, and a 24-hour nurse call system. The home offers numerous activities, including exercise classes, gardening, movie afternoons, and off-site bus tours. It also has a bowling green, a computer area, and programs for pet interaction and beauty care.

We were made a lot of promises by the person doing admissions when my mother was in for respite which sounded great. It was what we were looking for. None of them were carried out. In retrospect it seemed like just a blurb to get her in there. At one stage they didn’t even have food for her, they ‘forgot’. They agreed that all prescriptions and medical needs would be supplied by me and yet we’ve received a bill from a pharmacy we refuse to deal with. They can pay it to make up for the missed meal and unfulfilled promises. Extremely disappointing experience. I’d give 1 star except that some of the staff seemed great. Management seems to be the issue and that’s confirmed after reading a staff review which basically says they don’t care as long as they get paid.
