My darling mother was at Bupa Merrimac for 6 years. The staff took such wonderful care of mum from early onset of dementia through to high care in the later years. Bupa Merrimac is a wonderful nursing home. - Same staff for six years - Great activities they have for the residents - Dedication to caring and loving the residents is amazing - Calling me when mum was not well or injured - Physiotherapy when mum broke her hip - Providing myself, family and friends with snacks when visiting - Always approachable and understanding My only suggestion is that I wish that there were more staff/volunteers to assist these hard working people. With all the bad publicity in the press about nursing homes, they never report about the good nursing homes and the many carers that go above and beyond. Thank you Bupa Merrimac our family is forever grateful.

Can only go by what I have experienced since my father has been staying here. The staff are always welcoming and seem to have great compassion and care towards my dad. His health has actually improved and he is looking much better and I cant fault the care he is receiving

Residents often left unattended@, care often poor, unable to have fresh food, water placed out of reach, no physiotherapy to speak of, residents often dehydrated. No dental care and often fed cakes, cookies etc with no oral hygiene resulting in "nursing home dental failure" xerostomia and dental decay. Malnutrition inevitable under these circumstances, leading to pneumonia and cellulitis and infections. Make sure you watch your elderly if there, visit daily and bring fresh fruit and nourishing soups.
