My father spent the past 5 1/2 years at The Mews aged care facility, in Camberwell. Recently passing, I would like share my experience and thoughts . The incredibly devoted team of carers , run by the resident manager Michelle, are outstanding. Their utmost care, support and dedication to the residents , to provide each day to be filled with varied activities, meals and experiences is to be commended. Melinda, at front reception, welcomes you every visit, with a smile, Michelle the manager, and each carer is very happy to assist with any queries you may have, on your loved one. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend The Mews, as an aged care facility.

Thank you to Michelle Chen and the entire team. My mother and all of our family were treated with the utmost care respect and dignity in what was a difficult time for all. We could not fault any aspect. The people, the atmosphere, the care, the kindness. If you are needing to find a place for that special person when you can no longer provide what is needed for them - have a look here.

Thank goodness it's now managed by the Blue Cross. With the COVID-19 situation, the place would have been in trouble if it were still owned by the Gunns. The Gunns would only provide sandwich gloves to the care staff. If you wanted to use the proper gloves, you had to bring your own. They micro-managed the ACFI as they were more focused on the profit than the care. This is no longer the situation - thank you to Blue Cross and the staff.

Mum has been living at The Mews for over a year. As a family we are very happy with the care and the support she is getting. The staff are professional and friendly, and they take an active interest in her wellbeing. Moving from a family home is a challenge but the Mews has made every effort to make the transition as comfortable as possible. Mum is well cared for, safe and treated with respect, she has company and access to facilities impossible to duplicate if she was still living alone. We are all pleased and thankful that mum is being looked after and in a great residential environment.

My Mum has been at the Mews for almost five years. I’m sure it is the wonderful care and engaging programs at the Mews that has kept her living this long! She has been enabled to enjoy a quality of life that allows her family to feel confident of her day to day care so that we can enjoy her company when we have family outings and events. We get the good times with Mum and the Mews does the hard work!
