I’m sitting beside my mother, who will sadly pass away soon. She is pain free, clean, settled and looks beautiful. The staff have taken incredible care of her every step of the way. My Mum has lived at Ashmore Retreat for about four months now … and during that time, has been treated with an extraordinary level of care. Nurses, orderlies, facility managers and the helpful staff have offered a level of support and care that is WAY above necessary. They genuinely care about their residents and it dismays me to see negative comments left on Google by people who have no idea about the actual day to day running of this place. Erin the facility manager is a huge asset and tremendously effective, efficient and caring at the same time. You need someone like that to run a place like this. If you are reading this and wondering if you should place your loved one here … then take it from me … you won’t find a better place at any price. The people here, genuinely care. It’s as simple as that. They are good people doing a good job. I couldn’t have asked for a better place for my Mum to spend her final four months. Just visit, and ask a bunch of residents what they think … they are all so enthusiastic and pleased to be here. I could tell you at least twenty heart-warming stories about this place, but my review is starting to sound like an advertisement. I was blessed to find this place and hope your loved ones find their way here. You won’t be disappointed.
Dad went there for respite over a year ago. Didn't like it at first however now he can't thank me/or family enough for finding him a cosy spot there. Sure there are down sides. It's a tough job looking after the elderly however the upper admin are well trained and professional. The only down side is that they are only there for very limited hours. Otherwise a problem can't be solved as the Skelton staff are Under trained cleaner's and from other cultures. All in all though it's very nice
Disgusting place. My mother died with numerous bed sores most likely due to lack of staff. Always on there iPads. Her supposed palititve care was non existent. My last visit she was crying in pain. I literally had to drag a nurse to administer morphine. I'll Never forget the pain and loneliness she went through. Shame on you
My heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the beautiful staff at Ashmore Retreat for the compassionate and loving care they gave to my dear husband John and to me and my family. I would highly recommend this lovely facility. God bless you all.
